This is an oil pastel/Prismacolor pencil drawing. To blend the color evenly, I mask the areas around selected color-fields with FriskFilm, cut along the graphite sketch lines on the museum board with an X-acto blade and lift each section of film off the paper in order to lay in broad strokes of oil pastel color, push the pigment around with my fingertips or a rag dampened with a little mineral spirits, and layer more color on top of those areas, after which I pencil in the details that define the finished piece with Prismacolor pencils. NOTE: In the background you can see the image of another of my oil pastel/pencil drawings, ARTEMISIA.
Patrick Pierson: A TABLEAU OF DREAMS, NO LIMITS Born Pádraig Anton-Piers in 1953 on the outliers of Baile Átha Cliath, Éire (Ireland), the artist changed his name to Patrick Pierson in 1961 when he and his family immigrated to America. Initially represented and published by the Meisner Gallery in New York City, Patrick eventually settled in Palm Beach, Florida and established Fyshwerks Studio Gallery - a fine art studio, smithy, display gallery and publishing house that would become the birthplace for the creatures that were destined to inhabit the realm of Planet Zootopia.

I thought I had favorited this piece when I commented above, but when I went looking for it...I realized it wasn't there. This is simply awesome work...Very talented you are indeed.

Splendid artwork, Patrick! Shading, colors and technique are superb! Bravo!
Natalie Holland
Luxurious and sensuous! Superb!
Carolyn LeGrand
Exceptional painting to say the least. The main character looks as if she is floating in a bed of satin, but what really intrigues me is the painting in the background. I have inlarged it over and over. I see that rose in a vase once again (the same rose as in the Rape painting). I see the figure in the background in an orgasmic state of mind or perhaps pain. At any rate, there is mystery here and most of all brilliance of a great artist!

Sumptuous, gorgeous, seductive and stunningly beautiful work. One can reach out and touch the sheen on the fabric of her gown, the pillow and the sofa. The painting within the painting is intriguing, as well. Your very selective color palette on this works very well, too: an instant favorite Patrick!

Fantastic piece!! You can almost feel the smothness of the silk and how soft the cushions are, not to mention the richness of what appears to be a Maple table. Just fantastic work.!
